Mr.Hot Rod on the Track!

At only 6 ½ years of producing tracks Memphis native Hot Rod, also known as Rodney Tate, is definitely a producer on the rise. “I was introduced to music at a young age. My father and uncles sing, and my father is apart of a band to this day and I was always in the studio, and at the shows. Everyone always ask “Can you sing like your father?” and I never really picked up the singing gene. Until my freshman year of high school I was introduced to a beat program called Fruity Loops, which I’m still using. To make a long story short I figured since I couldn’t sing I could do music, cuz I always had beats in my head. It wasn’t easy starting off, but with time I grew better and it led me to this point.” So where did he get his nickname from? “Well I’ve been calles Hot Rod since about 6th grade just because my name was Rodney, and I was quite the ladies man, lol, but it went from Hot Rod to Hot Rod on the Tracks.”

One word to describe his tracks would be “unique”. So what makes his tracks so unique? “The simple face that I’m the one making them and no one will match my sound. I’m in my own lane and make good quality music.” Another interest of his is art, he has been drawing all of his life, and would have went to school for it but chose a different route. So now he just draws on occasions.

If you’ve heard Drumplay, Meet Da Plug, and That’s How I Be off of Yo Gotti’s new album “Cocaine Muzik 2”, then you’ve heard just some of the tracks produced by Hot Rod. “To be honest I wasn’t expecting to even do those tracks for CM2. I randomly gave Yo Gotti a beat cd I had been working on while in Memphis at the studio, and a few days later he hit me up with the songs and said they were going on CM2. I was a lil shocked and surprised at the same time ya know.” So what else has put Hot Rod on the rise? “I really don’t have too much of a track record but I started out with several underground acts and the ones who sort of gave my career a push were da volunteers, 8 Ball & MJG’s group. I produced several songs for them and landed two of my first beats on Memphis radio, and even acquired my first affiliate mixtape, and recently I’ve been working with DJ007,2Deep,Skewby,P.A.T, Nif Monroe, Payne the Lethal Son, and a few others.'

When it’s all said and done his inspirations are his family for keeping him in line, the loves of his life Jamaica and his daughter Jamaya. They keep him on his toes, because he wants to take this music thing to a whole another level and really change not only his life but theirs too. Some people he would like to work with in the future? “I’m really looking forward to working with any and everybody who has a name in this industry.I wanna do it all. I’ve been quite anxious to go to Nashville with some country beats and work with Garth Brooks or somebody lol.
Advice to upcoming producers….”to be extremely confident, patient, and stay humble, and always be prepared and most important don’t sell yourself short.” What's up and coming for Hot Rod on the Track?I have several projects I’m working on really, all of Yo Gotti’s albums and mixtapes, All Star, the whole I&E family. Several street mixtapes, other artists singles, my own company mixtape, just the whole nine. I have so much I’m working on it’s hard to keep up but wherever you hear the “HOT ROD ON THE TRACK” that’s me!”

“I’m just gone say it’s way to many people to name but I will say this, shout out to everybody in my corner and all my peeps I do this with. It’s my time and I ain’t lettin’ up. Hot Rod on the Track signin off….WELCOME TO THE TRACKHOUSE!”

Comedian Lil Courtney

Courntey the Comedian

~Mrs. Jaszy

At only the age of 20, Courtney Miller, is definately a comedian you would consider "Rated Next". When asked to tell me the funniest joke he has ever told he said,"the funniest joke I have told had to be the joke about me smokin weed, and callin the police on myself!" With inspirations like Chris Tucker, Martin Lawrence, Richard Pryor, and Cedric the Entertainer, he will definately soon be on his way to "stardom". Let me be the first to introduce to some and present to others, Mr. Courtney Miller.

COURTNEY/HOBBIES

J: How old are you?

C: 20

J: Where are you originally from?

C: I was born in Pine Bluff, AR but grew up in Little Rock

J: On your downtime you like to?...

C: On my downtime, I like to come up with ways to make someone laugh, network, chill, hang out, and socialize.

J: Is there any special person in your life?

C: Yes! Christ Jesus Himself. Other than that I would say my girlfriend, my immediate family (except for my dad!)

J: What is something most people would not expect from you?

C: To not be laughing. Laughter is good for my soul. I always have a smile on my face and if you ever see me not entertaining...then that’s a surprise to most people

COMEDY

J: Describe your 1st stand-up comedy show.

C: Well it was on a Wednesday night, and I was very nervous. I had been encouraged, and push to get up on stage one night by my nigga Fabian. So we went up there one night, I signed up, and did the damn thang. It wasn’t "all that" because it was my first time up, but I still managed to get laughs! After that I started to get comfortable with the crowds and the stage so now gettin up on stage is easy...sometimes.

J: How long have you considered yourself as a "comedian"?

C: Every since I came out my momma! From elementary school up until graduation, I have been the class clown. Being that has got me in trouble, but yet on some occasions saved me from getting in trouble. I knew that if I could make the teacher laugh then I would be on his/her good side.

J: What inspired you to be a comedian?

C: Well for the most part, my peers. Chris Tucker is my favorite comedian. Ever since I saw "Friday" I always liked Chris. People even say I remind them of Chris by the way I sometimes talk, and look.

J: Who are some of your inspirations?

C: God. He is the greatest inspiration. Other than that, Chris Tucker, Martin Lawrence, Richard Pryor, Cedric the Entertainer

J: If you wasn't doing comedy, you would be?...

C: Honestly, I don't know. This is all I wanna do. This is what I wake up for. But lets see, if I wasn't into this...I would probably be the president of some company or some shit...hell I don’t know. Possibly in school.

J: What was the funniest joke you have ever told?

C: Well out of the few times I have actually been on stage, the funniest joke I have told had to be the joke about me smokin weed, and callin the police on myself! HAHA! But I’m sure I got somethin better than that...

J: Do you think there should be more female comedians?

C: Well I mean...comedy is not limited to anyone. If you funny then you funny. I like to see women comedians just to see what they have to say that men don’t say. I don’t like to hear women talkin bout nasty shit tho. And when I say that I mean them talkin about dick, and pussies and shit...how they shit wrinkled, they titties, messed up and all that ol’ weird shit. Be funny and don’t tell us how bad your body is fucked up.

FUTURE

J: What is up and coming for you this year?

C: Well I plan to start woking at the airport being a transportation security officer. I want it because they paying a nigga! Other than that, doin this comedy. Next year I plan to start moving around with this. I’m tryin to get out to L.A. next summa wit my aunt! Big opportunity!

J: Advise to upcoming comedians?

C: Advise to up coming comedians? Lol! Im upcoming my damn self! But ugh...I would just say what others have told me...keep a positive attitude, and be all original. That means dont be stealing other comedian's shit!

J: Any shoutouts?

C: Yeah....My girlfriend Denese! My momma, my family, man everybody who wanna see me make it! Everybody that supports me know what I’m sayin mane? Just everybody! What’s hannin?!

OFF DA WALL
-DO YOU LOVE or HATE-

J: Conceded girls?

C: Hate...if you look good, and everybody know you look good, don’t think you da baddest bitch walkin around, cause its somebody out there dat look better than you!

J: Ugly toes?

C: HAHAHAHAHAHA! Hell naw! I hate dat shit! I don’t even like pretty toes! Everybody toes ugly to me!

J: Girls to make the 1st move?

C: I love dat...that lets me know she want da bizness! Nameen? My girlfriend made the first move on me! Really it doesnt matter. If you gon do da thang, it don’t matter who start it. Honestly, Imma be the one that pops it off!

J: Long hair?

C: I love long hair. It depends on what looks good on the girl.

J: Girls with grills?

C: Hell naw! I hate dat! I aint gon lie...I used to like a lil ghetto chick..but I dun grew out of dat so I like a sexy ass intelligent girl who know what she want in life!

J: Shy girls?
